Hello! My name is Sajjad, and I’ve had the incredible journey of reefing for over 15 years. When I first ventured into this captivating hobby, I faced the daunting advice that I needed to invest £5000 or more in a new tank tailored for marine fish. As a student, this felt impossible. Yet, I embraced the challenge: I delved into research, equipped myself with knowledge, and within just a week, I transformed my Fluval 200 tropical tank into a thriving marine oasis. It was a steep learning curve, but every moment taught me about the delicate balance essential for a successful marine setup. After three enriching years, life took me on a new path, and I had to close that marine tank when I moved 200 miles away. However, my passion never dwindled. A year later, I returned to Birmingham, reuniting with my family and re-establishing my reefing journey with a delightful 50-litre nano tank filled with vibrant fish and coral, which I joyfully nurtured for another three years. Then, life led me into the beautiful adventure of marriage, and with my own place, my nano tank journey continued. Yet, at 28, I faced an unimaginable challenge—waking up completely paralysed, and the fear of a stroke loomed heavy. A year passed in struggle, but I did not lose hope; I fought through fatigue while caring for my nano tank when I could. Slowly but surely, health began to return, and I urged my wife to invest in a 200-litre tank, rekindling my passion for reefing. Shortly after, we embraced the joy of expecting our little baby, which came with yet another move. Now, in my current home, I manage three tanks: my main tank, a dedicated frag tank for my sales, and a small breeder tank where I'm excitedly trying to breed storm clownfish. My journey into fragging began in the transformative year of 2020—a bittersweet experience marked by the birth of my precious daughter in January and the loss of my father-in-law just six months prior, alongside a lockdown that made life feel particularly challenging. In the face of adversity, I made a powerful choice: I redirected my focus to something that ignited joy within me. I began fragging my corals, which had outgrown their spaces, and offered them for sale on eBay. The first few orders were daunting as I juggled the learning curves of posting and coping with physical limitations. But as I persevered, I found my rhythm, adapting to the new levels of stress that came my way. Today, I have proudly sent out thousands of corals, receiving over a thousand positive feedbacks in return. Fragging corals has become not just a hobby, but a lifeline, rekindling my cognitive abilities and giving purpose to my efforts. Everything I sell is the product of my passion, and the funds contribute back to nurturing my beloved hobby. When you support my work, you’re not just buying corals; you’re empowering a fellow reefer to continue this beautiful journey. I take immense pride in my fish and corals, ensuring they are cared for and find splendid homes. My tanks operate on entirely separate systems, minimising risk and upholding the welfare of my aquatic companions. Join me as I celebrate resilience, inspire action, and continue this vibrant journey of reefing—together, let’s create vibrant underwater worlds filled with life and beauty!
